Golf Course Superintendent
Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Manage and participate in the maintenance of the entire golf facility.
Position Summary and Job Duties:
• Operate equipment as needed, and train staff on safe operation of all equipment utilized for golf course and property maintenance.
• Hire, train, and supervise all golf course maintenance employees.
• Assist with budgeting process and capital long-term planning.
• Manage maintenance and operation of irrigation system (Toro) and pump station.
• Assist with equipment service during winter months as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time, year-round position, January through December. The work hours are typically weekdays from 5:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M., weekends and holidays 5:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M during the season. Working hours will be reduced in the off-season.
Requirements:
Candidates must be able to lead and work well within our golf course maintenance team to help provide the best playing conditions for our guests.
Other qualities we are looking for include a positive attitude, an eye for detail, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Knowledge of golf course maintenance is required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency.
Must be able to obtain pesticide application license within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of detailed planning of maintenance work with the most efficient utilization of resources, labor/equipment.
Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures applicable to maintenance equipment.
Skill in the use of equipment and repair tools.
Ability to communicate effectively; follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to maintain positive interactions with co-workers and guests.
Ability to operate various golf course maintenance equipment including trucks, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical and non-mechanical equipment.
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Compensation:
$62,540 – $74,452 per year.
