TIME FRAME: This is a short term, seasonal position.

ALL JAZZ FESTIVAL EVENT DAYS

April 24-27 & May 1-4, 2025

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversee the operation of a stage featuring live music, ensuring smooth performances and transitions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Maintain a professional attitude while working with artists, their staff, festival personnel, and volunteers, even in high-pressure situations.
• Make public announcements unless an announcer is provided.
• Supervise the Stage Crew in executing efficient stage changeovers.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of band equipment as needed.
• Ensure artists transition on and off stage on schedule.
• Possess knowledge of and experience with band gear (preferred).
• Communicate stage status updates to Music Central.
• Implement Rain Procedures in case of inclement weather.
• Oversee the final Load Out on the last day of the festival.
• Lift and transport heavy equipment (75–80 lbs) frequently.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple set changes and limited transition time.
• Collaborate with the stage sound engineer and Foundation archivist to facilitate audio and/or video recordings of performances as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the Festival Finance Office.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
• Give any document, computer program, design, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival (and, therefore, belonging to the Jazz Festival) to the Festival through your
• supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
• Attend and complete any required training.
• Complete all required Feedback Forms and Final Reports.
• Must attend and complete any required training.
• Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Prior experience and knowledge of band gear.
• Familiarity with festival and special event production.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with artists, presenters, volunteers, and festival staff.
• Ability to work long hours in a high-energy, fast-paced production environment.
• Physically active role requiring frequent heavy lifting.

Note:  This role requires heavy lifting and flexibility in working hours to accommodate festival schedules.
