SBA Credit Analyst/Portfolio Manager – To $130K – Hybrid Remote (Tampa, FL) – Job # 3460

The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Hybrid Remote SBA Credit Analyst/Portfolio Manager role in the Tampa, FL area. This selected candidate will be responsible for servicing the existing SBA &  USDA portfolio, as well as analyzing financial data on new and existing SBA & USDA loans  

This position includes a generous salary of up to $130K and a full benefits package. (This is a hybrid remote position.)

SBA Credit Analyst/Portfolio Manager responsibilities include:

  • Perform annual review/credit analysis on all SBA & USDA loans assigned. This duty is performed daily, about 80% of the time. 
  • Prepare Credit Memo and Addendums for SBA & USDA loans. This duty is performed daily, about  50% of the time. 
  • Review Late Pays/Deficiency Report and work with loan officer/borrower on work-outs and  collections. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time. 
  • Update the SBA Watch List for all assigned SBA & USDA loans. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time. 
  • Review Closed Loans for accuracy (post-closing review) 
  • Underwrite (perform credit analysis) for new SBA & USDA loan requests as assigned. This duty is  performed daily, about 20% of the time. 
  • Prepare Loan Modification Requests and present to Chief Lending Officer (CLO) & Region’s loan  committee, SBA/USDA servicing & liquidation plans 
  • Request Release of Collateral from SBA and secondary market consultant. This duty is performed as needed, about 20% of the time. 
  • Prepare Liquidation package for the SBA Repurchase Guaranty Center and the Bank’s attorney. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time. 
  • Work closely with the SBA/USDA Closing Specialist to review closing packages accuracy 
  • Work closely with the SBA/USDA Loan Servicing Specialist/Supervisor for training 
  • Update Procedures, as needed, for this role; perform “testing” for new systems (nCino) 
  • Work with SBA Liquidation Project Manager and SAD. This duty is performed as needed, about 20% of the time. 
  • Prepare Form 1149 Transmittal for net proceeds from liquidation of collateral for defaulted loans. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time. 
  • Order 3rd party reports (appraisals) for collateral values for LTV. This duty is performed as needed, about 20% of the time. 
  • Review SBA standard operating procedures (SOP) and take webinars to keep up to date on SBA SOP changes. This duty is performed annually, about 10% of the time. 
  • Attend SBA & USDA Dept meetings/training. This duty is performed annually, about 10% of the time. 
  • Monitor Insurances and collect updated certificates. This duty is performed as needed, about 20% of the time. 
  • Work closely with SBA & USDA Dept Portfolio Managers to assign projects & tasks. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time. 
  • Pull weekly reports (cash items, delinquency report) and Monitor GL Accounts. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time. 
  • Set up Ticklers for all SBA & USDA loans for annual review reminders. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time. 
  • Works closely with SBA examiners for annual audits. This duty is performed annually, about 20% of the time. 
  • Work with the Construction Department to review/approve pay applications for eligibility 
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. 
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

  • 5+ years of SBA 7a underwriting/credit analysis experience. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study preferred specialized financial analysis training.
  • Must be familiar with the most recent version of the SBA SOP. 
  • Proficient ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Adept with spreadsheet and word processing software as well as have experience working in a digital office environment.
