Job Title: Revenue Accounting Manager

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite 5x per week)

Duration: 6 Months (Potential to Extension/Hire)

Schedule: M-F 8 AM- 5 PM (40 hrs/week)

Pay Rate Range: $83/hr - $88/hr

The Manager of Revenue Accounting will be a key member of the Revenue Accounting team and will report to the Senior Manager of Revenue. As a top candidate, you should have a desire to learn and analyze complex revenue transactions and go-to market strategies using your understanding of Hardware, Software and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606). This role will be part of the Revenue Team leadership responsible for developing and growing a world class team as the company continues to grow.

Duties:
  • Ensure revenue recognition in company financials is in accordance with US GAAP/ASC 606
  • Execute monthly/quarterly revenue accounting close efforts, including revenue allocation calculations, journal entry preparation, reconciliation procedures, RPO preparation, SSP calculation, controls, and the preparation and review of auditable workpapers.
  • Collaborate on quarterly reporting, providing slides for CAO/CFO readouts on quarterly results.
  • Monitor daily revenue transactions and approve non-standard requests, including assessment of payment terms, return rights, and similar conditions.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
  • Daily monitoring and reviews of revenue transactions and approvals of non-standard requests.
  • You will provide technical revenue recognition guidance in accordance with our existing revenue policy, ASC 606 and in accordance to U.S. GAAP in order to properly recognize revenue.
  • Partner with the Deal Desk team to provide revenue recognition guidance during contract negotiations.
  • Review and assist with contract revenue write-up process and partner with our external auditors to ensure the accuracy of our revenue is maintained.
  • Perform technical guidance (ASC 606) research and provide solutions/options to new and complex issues.
  • As specific revenue matters develop prepare technical revenue memos and work with our external auditors to ensure they are discussed and signed off in a timely manner.
  • Help lead and manage ad-hoc projects providing recurring status updates on progress, gaps, roadmaps and estimated closure.
  • Exceptional problem solver uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems and is excellent at honest analysis. Doesnt stop at first answers rather he/she will strive to seek the correct answer.
  • Extensive experience and ability to utilize excel the majority of our final accounting is handled in excel
  • Strong business acumen can identify risk and opportunity.
  • An efficient multi-tasker can marshal resources and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish their goal.
Education:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant revenue accounting experience
  • At least 4 years of public company revenue recognition experience highly desired
  • Working knowledge of Revenue Recognition Accounting in accordance with ASC 606
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong leadership skills and high degree of business proficiency and judgment is essential
  • Ability to analyze transactions from an accounting and economic perspective
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across multiple levels, functions, and locations
  • Experience with NetSuite, SFDC, SQL, SAP and Tableau highly desired
Requirements:
  • Local Candidates only who can be onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office, 5x per week
  • Initial Assignment Length: 6 months with possibility of extension depending on business needs
Manager Notes:
  • Support for day to day and monthly/quarterly procedures. Activities will include managing approval ques, performing manual close activities such as CAPEX and Renewal carves, FSA carves, Flex carves, E/One straight line, deferred revenue recons, contra revenue review and posting, SFDC to NS recons (for close), account reconciliations, etc.
  • Candidate SHOULD have experience in working at a publicly traded company cannot be at small businesses or privately held companies. Those that do not have this required experience will be declined.
  • ASC 606 knowledge required but not necessarily at a tech company.
  • Experience with public accounting a big plus.
  • Extreme attention to detail needed. Manual input in spreadsheets expected.
