Positions are available in OH, IN, MO, WI, MN, and CO

With 20,000 members, Workers United CMRJB represents many types of workers from differing industries throughout the Midwest and Rockies. We strongly believe in the development of member leaders through education and activism. Positions are available in Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Colorado.

Prior Union or Community organizing is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Help implement Strategies to involve union members in activities that build the local union's capacity.
  • Build relationships with workers and educate them about the benefits of having a union.
  • Conduct worksite assessments
  • Conduct individual and group meetings with workers to motivate them to action.
  • Identify leaders.
  • Foster Recruitment
  • Engage workers in broader union efforts to further the political goals of the Union.
  • Work with Local Union Leaderships to ensure effective meetings and good internal communication.
  • Assist with the preparation of leaflets, bulletins, etc for communication with membership

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work irregular hours. Weekend hours will be required at times.
  • Ability and willingness to ask for help when needed
  • Capacity to work independently and with a team.
  • Must be motivated and self starter
  • The ability to make and follow through on a work plan.
  • Strong communication skills is a must.
  • Basic writing and computer skills.
  • The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary.

Compensation:
Salary range is $45K to $55K and is negotiable based upon previous experience. There is an excellent benefits package inclusive of premium medical, retirement, vacation, personal/sick time and other compensatory perks and reimbursements.
