Job Description

Keeps premises of office building, apartment house, or other commercial or institutional building in clean and orderly condition.

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweeps, and scrubs floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Sweep and pickup trash on the parking lot and entrances or as specified by contract.
• Cleans all sinks, commodes, and mirrors.
• Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies to ensure economical use thereof.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Position requires regular standing and walking, as well as frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds. Judgment must be used if items weigh over 25 pounds.

• Work may be at varying locations. 
• Part-time position. Evening shifts available.
