Job Description: Delivery Driver – 14-Foot Box Truck

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Delivery Driver to transport building materials using a 14-foot box truck. The position involves driving from our warehouse in New Jersey to various locations across New York City and its surrounding boroughs. The ideal candidate will be punctual, have excellent navigation skills, and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Safe and Timely Deliveries:
   • Assist with loading, transport, and deliver goods efficiently from the NJ warehouse to specified NYC and borough locations.
   • Adhere to the scheduled delivery routes and ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
2. Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:
   • Operate the 14-foot box truck safely, following all traffic laws and company policies.
   • Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and report any maintenance needs promptly.
3. Customer Service:
   • Interact with clients professionally during deliveries.
   • Obtain delivery confirmations and signatures as required.
4. Inventory Handling:
   • Verify the accuracy of items being loaded and unloaded.
   • Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transport.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
   • Report any delivery or traffic-related issues to the operations team.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record with no recent accidents or violations
• Experience driving and maneuvering box trucks, particularly in urban environments
• Knowledge of NYC roads, boroughs, and traffic patterns is a plus
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

Work Environment:

• Driving in various weather and traffic conditions

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly wage or salary (based on experience). Pay is starting at $ 22/hr, will pay more with proven, successful experience
• Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30a – 2:30p (hours could shift depending on projects)
